Letter to SEAT Members Fellow SEAT Members, Most of you know by now that Wanda and I will “retire” from the SEAT Editor and Treasurer positions at the end of 2011. The January 2012 “View from the SEAT” will be the last issue of “The View.” We have not missed an issue in more than 14 years! Little did we know some 14 years ago when we resurrected SEAT what a long and winding road it would be as the Editor and Treasure of such a great group of folks. We have published 160 plus SEAT Newsletters and gave close to 500 members, both past and present, an excuse to go for a ride every month for more than a decade. It has been our passion to document and publish pictures of those SEAT lunches, breakfasts, and overnighters. Literally hundreds of SEAT Member’s stories and technical articles have been published in the pages of “The View.” Like all good things, the time comes when a change is in order; and with the help of Allen and Diane Moore, Craig Littlefield, Len Robbins, and Deb and Gary Blomstrom that change is just around the corner. The new SEAT web site is taking shape and when fully functional will offer SEAT members a host of new features that will make getting together for a ride so much easier. The new SEAT web site is an interactive site, making it easy for SEAT members to post trip reports with pictures, or to list a “For Sales” with pictures; or how about just to chat with other SEAT members over the net on the SEAT Forum. Good stuff! The new SEAT web site will be up and running on 1 November this year. Expect to get an email from The SEAT Web Master with your logon information, SEAT password and some tips on how to get started. Allen, Diane and Craig have spent some serious time getting the site up and running. Check it out as soon as you get your password. Believe me, you won’t be disappointed. It has been our pleasure and honor to be the SEAT Editor and SEAT Treasure for all these years. Although “The View” is going away, we aren’t and neither is SEAT. You can count on us to continue organizing and writing about SEAT gatherings and events well into the future. Ride safe... Deryle and Wanda Mehrten Presidents, South East Arizona Touring Riders
