Iron Horse BMW's Open house April 2006
The new R1200GS Adventure was unveiled at
an Open House at Iron Horse Motorcycles on the 15th of April. John Cartwright, the owner of Iron Horse,
also hosted their first annual Swap Meet in the back parking lot.
The weather was just right, a bit hot but
without the winds that had blown the day before. It didn’t hurt to put a bit of sun screen on to help that first
sun burn of the season to be a mild one.
Swap meeters are an early crowd. By the time 9 am rolled around the back
parking lot was space available only.
There were folks with tables and chairs; and folks with boxes and a
blanket. You could find old Beemer
parts and new Beemer parts side by side.
It was really pretty neat.
SEAT was there with our banner up for all
to see. We had three folks join (two
were re-joiners); and sold six SEAT shirts and a SEAT cup. The SEAT cups are really kewl.
It was a pretty big turn out for John and
the gang. Early morning bagels and
doughnuts, then a BBQ chicken or beef sandwich for lunch, rounded out a really
well done open house. Kudos to all! The new KGT is coming out in the near future. Think John with host another great open house? We’ll keep you posted. The Photos are taken by Harb Lill and Deryle Mehrten
