Statistics
January 2008

In the past we have taken our membership snapshot
anywhere in the year. Sometimes in
April, once in July, no real methodology.
Well after Wanda did some serious reconstruction, we now have a very
nice snapshot of SEAT at the end of 2007 with data going back to 1999.
Some caveats. We really didn’t start keeping track of Other Brands until about
2002 or so. The member’s first three
bikes noted on their membership application are now used. Made a big difference in the total and the
mix.
What you see is confirmation that the BMW
Boxer (R Model) is still the most popular Beemer, 41% of the total Beemers
reported. Other Brands has risen to 42%
of total bikes reported, big jump.
Last but THE most important data element
is membership. We grew from about 30 at
the end of 1997 to just a bit over 200.
That seems to be our plateau.
Not bad for a Southern Arizona BMW Club.
In the future we will take a snapshot of
SEAT at the end of each year. On your
next renewals be sure to list up to three bikes. Beemers first ;)
Wouldn’t it be nice if we had age, sex,
gender, and all that other good stuff that goes into demographics? Naw…
