The Adventure Ride

March 2010

An "Adventure Ride" is scheduled for Sunday, March 21 and is open to SEAT members and other interested riders.  The ride is designed to be suitable for dual sport bikes 650cc and larger.  It will be similar but not the same as last year's ride and will travel through some of southeast Arizona's most beautiful back country.  Bring your camera!

There is no entry fe and Iron Horse Motorcycles will provide a picnic lunch (on route) at no charge to the participants. Ed Hertfelder of "Duct Tapes" fame will be in charge of the lunch wagon. (Note:  Ed will be happy to take orders for autographed copies of his latest book for those interested.)  This is a self guided tour and navigation will be by "route sheet".  The route will be approximately 150 miles long with two or three "challenging" sections for those so inclined.  All others can by-pass the challenging sections.

The start location will be at the Madera Plaza which is located about a mile east of I-19, Exit 63, on Continental Road.  There will be a Riders Meeting at 8:30 AM so all participants must be there before 8:30.  Important information about the route will be discussed and navigation route sheets will be distributed at the meeting.

Please note that there will be a limit of 50 riders and if interested YOU MUST MAKE A RESERVATION BY MARCH 15 so that we know how many lunches to provide and route sheets to print.  Make your reservation by calling Tim Zierman (520)458-4838 or Pat Walsh (520)403-4002 and provide your name, contact telephone number and brand/model of motorcycle.  Since the ride will be limited to 50 riders, please reserve a spot only if you are certain of your attendance.

A couple of final points; each participant is responsible for their own safety and for dealing with their own mechanical breakdowns.

     And please, NO LOUD MUFFLERS.

For out-of-towners, there is a Comfort Inn and a Quality Inn located at I-19, Exit 65, in Green Valley, one exit from the Madera Plaza start location.
