Book Review

BMW GS Adventure Motorcycle, A 30-Year Catalog, Hans-Jurgen Schneiderand and Dr. Axel Koenigsbeck, hardbound, bw and color, 215 pages.

If you are even considering a BMW GS, get this book.  From the beginnings in 1980 to the most recent GS BMW has to offer you will find all the technical details with loads of behind the scenes planning and discussions.  BMW hit the jackpot with the Gelandsport Beemers.

The book’s collection of historic pictures, all the later ones in color, is worth the price of the book alone.  Early photos of the GS 80 being developed and BMW’s early assaults on the Paris to Dakar Rally are awesome.  I wonder if they knew just what a change the GS would bring to the world of motorcycling.

Thanks to Rick and Mary Lambert of Xplorermoto (www.xplorermoto.com) for donating this fantastic book to SEAT for the SEAT Christmas Party.  And congratulations to Xplorermoto on their 1st year anniversary, way to go guys!
