Track Day at Arroyo Seco Motorplex, NM

John Cartwright III, the owner/manager of Iron Horse Motorcycles, likes to go fast...dirt or street.  To this end he rented the Arroyo Seco Motroplex in New Mexico for a couple of days so he and his friends could go play in the fast lane.  What a nice guy!

When SEAT member Don Cameron heard about John’s plans, he invited all the racers to come by for a steak dinner at the Cameron Ranch.  Now that’s an invite you can’t refuse!

The Arroyo Seco Motorplex is about 20 miles east of Deming at the Akela exit off of I-10.  With a few exceptions, most of the bikes were your basic street machines.  Both RTs and GSs did laps at quite respectable speeds I’m told.  The full track bikes were pretty slick to watch and hear as they came down the back straight towards the afternoon’s pits.

After a hard day at the track, its nice to have a glass of wine or a bottle of brewski waiting...along with a delicious steak all BBQ’ed and ready to eat.  Don does know how to prepare a meal for a bunch of folks.

This won’t be the only track day John sponsors.  Be sure to drop by Iron Horse Motorcycles or visit their web page to see what is happening,   www.ironhorsemotorcycles.com.
