Re: Death Valley Daze...
Fellow SEAT Members,

Wanda and I have our reservations for Laughlin. Cheap - $26.32 in the Orleans Tower (did I ever tell you I lived in Orleans, France 1959 to 62...)

We also have our reservations for a Cabin at the Furnace Creak Ranch - way expensive - over $300 for two days...hopefully the weather will make it kewl.

Ride safe...

Re: Death Valley Daze...
Guys and Gals,

Wanda and I have made our plans and have mapped out our route to and from Death Valley.

Rather than spend two nights in Furnace Creek, we will spend Friday night only and do some looping around in Arizona Saturday. We’ll head back via Tecopa. We have never checked out the hot springs there. We may stop and check out the new bridge over the Colorado; we're definitely planning on doing black bean veggie burgers in Chloride; can't miss riding Old Route 666 and stopping to smell the burros in Oatman; then we'll spend the night in Laughlin again for some micro brew Saturday night.

Going and returning we'll spend the night in Ajo on Hwy 85 south of Gila Bend at the Marine Motel. It’s a bit run down and a bit funky...butt it is located next to some great Margaritas and a most excellent Chinese restaurant.

Here are a couple of links to Google maps with our routes going and returning.

Returning:

See you there!

Re: Death Valley Daze...
My current plan is to arrive in Tucson (from Oregon) on or about Jan. 15th. I am hoping to be able to get it together to go on on the DV ride. Some things need to fall in place first. I'll keep in touch.

A number of us are taking our GSs to Death Valley Daze this year to explore some of the many dirt roads in the area. If you have a a dual-sport and would like to join us, we'd love to have you along.

Is anyone camping at DVD? Unable to get room on Saturday night.

Re: Death Valley Daze...
Jack,

There are at least three tent sites that I believe are reserved by SEAT members, possibly four. Don and Steve are on 84, Wanda and I have 83, SEAT has 68 and one more tent site, and there may be a SEAT member on 85, not sure.

It looks like the Friday night hot dogs and Saturday night stew is on. There's 20 some names on the list.

I believe Gary will be letting us know next week.

Ride safe...

Re: Death Valley Daze...
So far we have 23 people signed up for DVD 2012. A mix of camping, cabin and staying offsite. Equipment and transport are almost settled. I'll go shopping Sat/Sunday and collect gear as necessary by Tuesday.

Anyone wishing to join us give me a byte at Garyb851@comcast.net so I can ensure enough chow.
