Indian Route 59 (Navajo Nation) - Kayenta (Hwy 160) to Many Farms (Hwy 191)

Coming into Arizona from Mexican Hat, Utah will bring you down past Monument Valley and to Kayenta at Highway 160. From there it is quite a loop to continue south with out doing some back tracking. Indian Route 59 will take you over to Many Farms and cut off a bunch of back track miles.
IR 59 was well paved the last time we cut over to Chinle and I think we saw maybe two other vehicles. Google shows two small towns on the way, Chilchinbito and Rough Rock, we didn’t see any towns per se.
Like on all Indian Nations do watch for live stock and wild animals on the roads. And keep a sharp eye out for the Indian Highway Patrol, they will write you a ticket.
A great SLC&WA that really is a shortcut, not bad!
