The Vail Steakhouse Café & Diner Vail, AZ (I-10 Exit 279) 11 July 2010, 8:00 a.m. (Breakfast)
SEAT has lunched at the Vail Steakhouse (13005 E. Benson Hwy, I-10 Exit 279) once since their remodeling and gave them a 7.3 rating on the SEAT Café Survey scale of 1 to 10. That’s not a bad rating among the many restaurants and cafes SEAT has lunched and/or breakfasted at.
Old Spanish Trail on the East side of Tucson is a nice route out to Colossal Cave and Vail. Although this was once a rather deserted back road that is now built up and getting bigger every day, it should be a pleasant early morning ride. Riders from the South can enjoy the new piece of Hwy 83 north of Sonoita!
We’re calling it the “4th of July Celebration SEAT Breakfast”. See you there!
The Home Plate, Patagonia, AZ 8 August 2010, 8:30 a.m. (Breakfast)
The Home Plate is located inside the Stage Stop Inn in Patagonia (520) 394-2344. The last time SEAT did a breakfast at the Home Plate our table(s) were give to another group. This year I have asked that we get one of the backroom table and would they put a sign on it. Their answer was “You bet!” Hopefully this will prevent any confusion.
The ride down to Patagonia is a good ride coming in either from the east or west. Remodeling of Hwy 83 north of Sonoita is complete except for some clean up. The road is now smooth and wide with a lot more guard rails along a two mile stretch. One question: Why did the cover at the roadside table have to be removed???
Ride safe and see you in Patagonia!
Got a favorite place you like to eat? A special restaurant that would like to see a bunch of BMW Motorcycles show up? Hidden away and off the beaten path? These are just the places we are looking for.
Give Wanda or me a call at (520) 378-1978 or email at editor@seatrider.org and share the good food with your fellow members, Thanks!
