Overnight ride to Ajo

Monday, 12/8 to Tuesday December 9th

Bill Flannery planned the ride

A total of six SEAT members enjoyed a GREAT overnight ride to Ajo this week. Participants: Bill Flannery, Darrell Conklin, Chip Llewellyn, Tom Butler, Larry Thomas and Heinz Platten. The weather was absolutely perfect, the route was great with roads in great shape with virtually no traffic, the dinner was fantastic, the town of Ajo was beautiful with welcoming locals and the Sonoran Desert Inn was wonderful complete with a fire pit and lots of wood. We discussed and solved all the world's problems in the evening hours sitting around the campfire.

We added in a few detours along the ride:

- BIA 232 Indian Route from Sells heading toward Why. It's a rather desolate road in overall good condition (fully paved) with beautiful desert scenery and a sense of being completely "off the grid".

- Kris Eggle Visitor Center in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. A very informative, educational visit.

A HUGE THANKS to Darrell, Chip, Larry, Tom and Heinz for the camaraderie and an awesome ride/adventure!

Thanks,

Flan
